King’s InterHigh joins up with Russell Group university tutors in South Korea to bring British education online

By King's InterHigh

In collaboration with Story Education, one of South Korea’s most successful private tutoring institutions, South Korean students will soon be able to access an outstanding, recognised, and accredited British education online through King’s InterHigh.

With over 30 English-speaking international schools across South Korea, the country’s appetite for quality global education is high. More and more families are turning to a foreign style of education for their children, whether based in Korea or overseas. According to data from HESA, there were almost 5,800 South Korean students in the UK in 2020, and that number continues to rise.

With this in mind, tutoring centres have become a popular option for families in South Korea who want to prepare their children for overseas study or favourable entry into Korea-based international schools.

Established in 2013, Story Education is a private tutoring company for families looking to ready their children for the top schools in South Korea and around the world. Story Education tutors a suite of IGCSE, A Level, and IB Diploma subjects — all led by Korean-speaking subject-specialists from the UK’s leading universities. Imperial College London, London School of Economics (LSE), and UCL are just a few of the top institutions Story Education tutors hail from, with many studying at British boarding schools in their own younger years.

In the first collaboration of its kind in South Korea, a new partnership between King’s InterHigh and Story Education is bringing these students even greater access to stellar British learning.

King’s InterHigh will now offer Story Education’s learners the opportunity to study a vast range of accredited IGCSEs and A Levels, or the world’s first online IB Diploma Programme — all from South Korea. Students will have the freedom to study in their own homes or at Story Education’s purpose-built learning centres across Seoul and Jeju Island.

As King’s InterHigh learners, students will be taught by highly qualified and experienced subject specialists from the UK in live, interactive classes. These students will also join a vibrant, diverse community of students from all over the world, where they’ll be immersed in extracurricular activities and global initiatives. Plus, learners on the A Level and IB Diploma pathways will receive specialist advice and guidance for university applications, giving them the best chance of gaining admission to their dream universities anywhere in the world.

Speaking on this new opportunity for students in South Korea, Mr. Gareth Lucas-Howells, Head of Education Partnerships at Kings InterHigh said: “We are proud to work with such a forward-thinking organisation in South Korea that places great emphasis on high-quality education and exceptional academic outcomes for their students. We both share the common goal of helping South Korean students to compete on the global stage with international mindedness and 21st century skills, as well as international qualifications.”

Mr. Richard Shin, founder of Story Education, commented: “Due to the pandemic, the importance of online learning programmes has become significant. Story Education’s aim of providing our students with the most excellent academic programmes has led us to the collaboration with Kings InterHigh. We look forward to the opportunities this partnership will bring to the students, enabling easier access to authentic British education.
