Matthew Hyland | Nina's Dad
Matthew’s daughter Nina studies at King's InterHigh. See below to read about his experiences with online schooling.
"I am extremely proud of my daughter for the way she applied herself to her studies each day and I am confident her home taught experience with King's InterHigh has given her much more than just exam grades."
What do you think inspires children and parents to make the change to homeschooling?
Students study from home for a multitude of reasons, each one specific to them but with each student being united in the desire to continue their education and not give up.
At King's InterHigh, students independently learn using an online platform. In your experience, how does this different way of learning improve the skills of students?
Studying alone takes tremendous self-discipline, personal organisation, dedication and drive. This is truly remarkable and deserves absolute respect and admiration.
In comparison to a mainstream schooling environment, how does studying with King's InterHigh help students prepare for their future?
These self-taught skill sets which students develop often go by unrecognised and are certainly never graded. Yet, these skills will advance the student in every aspect of life and take them far further than any of the graded exams ever will. I am extremely proud of my daughter for the way she applied herself to her studies each day and I am confident her home taught experience with King’s InterHigh has given her much more than just exam grades.
Do you have any advice for students currently studying with King's InterHigh?
Each and every student should take a step back to acknowledge and be proud of their achievement to study at home. Regardless of the results finally achieved, they are already a success in so many ways.
