Welsh Government education minister Kirsty Williams visits King’s InterHigh

By King's InterHigh

King’s InterHigh welcomed Brecon and Radnorshire AM Kirsty Williams to our headquarters in Crickhowell.

Ms Williams, who is also the Welsh Assembly Government cabinet secretary for education, was given an hour-long tour of the business and the other educational-focused operations run by Wey Education Plc, at its headquarters on the Elvicta Estate.

The tour was led by Wey Education’s CEO and InterHigh co-founder Jacqueline Daniell and other senior members of staff.

Ms Williams also experienced a live online lesson and spoke to teachers, parents, pupils and Wey Education’s non-executive director Dame Erica Christine Pienaar.

Brecon and Radnorshire AM Kirsty Williams said:

“It’s been a very interesting visit to learn more about the work of Wey Education and the interesting use of Information Technology and distance learning and blended learning and what that offers to children and young people.

“I’m always very pleased to visit successful businesses based in Brecon and Radnorshire. Sometimes people have the misguided perception that we only have small businesses in this community. We have some very valuable small businesses, but obviously this is a business which has a worldwide reach and that is something that we should be very proud of in Brecon and Radnorshire.”

Wey Education’s CEO and InterHigh co-founder Jacqueline Daniell said:

“We are delighted that Kirsty took the time to find out more about Wey Education Plc.

“It is vital that the services of this Wales-based company reach all those young people and families that need us, for whatever reason, and not just those who manage to find us.”
