"Since joining King's InterHigh in 2015, I have been able to take full control over my learning."

Following being ill during my GCSES and spending most of Year 11 self-studying, I discovered how well I work independently.

The conventional school environment wasn’t what I wanted for my sixth form years, and I already had friends here at King’s InterHigh who suggested maybe online schooling would work for me.

Since joining King’s InterHigh in 2015, I have been able to take full control over my learning. Where the typical 8-hour school day limits and controls a student’s every hour, at King’s InterHigh I have the freedom to study what I want, when I want, and study in ways that work perfectly for me. I have so much, uninterrupted time to study, revise and pursue other interests, such as my part time job as an online journalist. People may question how rigorous the curriculum is given the lack of contact time, but the amount of time dedicated to independent study means learning and revising are equally, if not more demanding, leading anyone who joins King’s InterHigh to a diligent work ethic that will be excellent for the coming years and later life.

Preparing for a better future…

My favourite part of my experience at King’s InterHigh has definitely been the classroom environment provided. In high school I was sick of disruptive students costing valuable time in each and every lesson. However, schooling online has meant there are no disruptions, and work is harmonious and far more active in discussion. My opinion feels more valued than it did in physical school, and I’ve never enjoyed learning so much as now. My health and wellbeing have improved through this method of schooling, and that’s all thanks to King’s InterHigh.

Being at King’s InterHigh has meant that whilst improving my health, my grades have been stable and high throughout my time here. At AS Level I achieved A’s and am hoping to gain similar if not the same grades at A2. Looking to the future, I intend to commence an undergraduate degree in English Literature with Creative Writing in September, with the aim of entering the world of publishing or journalism afterwards.
